About This Build
$650. That's it. That's all you need for a solid 1080p gaming machine in 2025.
The 5600X is still an absolute unit for the price. Yes it's last-gen AM4, but at $129 it's impossible to beat for budget gaming. Paired it with the RX 7600 which handles 1080p high settings in basically every game at 60+ fps.
I specifically chose DDR4 and AM4 to keep costs down. You lose DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 but at this budget level, neither matters. The money saved goes toward a better GPU which has a much bigger impact on gaming performance.
The one place I didn't cheap out is the PSU. The Seasonic GX-750 is overkill for this build's power draw but it gives you room to drop in a more powerful GPU later without replacing the PSU.
