Is the 7800X3D actually worth it over the 7600 for pure 1440p gaming?

Seeing a lot of people default-recommend the 7800X3D but it's nearly double the price of a 7600. For someone who ONLY games at 1440p (no streaming, no productivity), is the gap real?
My take after living with both: at 1440p you're GPU-bound most of the time, so in a lot of AAA titles the difference shrinks to single-digit fps. BUT in CPU-heavy stuff — sims, MMOs, competitive titles where you're chasing 1% lows for a high-refresh monitor — the 3D V-Cache is a genuine night-and-day upgrade.
So my rule: 60-144Hz GPU-bound gamer → save the money, get a 7600 and a better GPU. 240Hz competitive or sim/MMO player → the X3D earns it. Curious where everyone else landed.
