RTX 5070 stock is loosening - occasional near-MSRP cards at Newegg, buy now or wait?

This is the first stretch where RTX 5070 listings have not made me laugh at the pricing every single time. Most cards still sit a bit above the $549 MSRP, but I am finally seeing the occasional card drop close to MSRP at Newegg instead of the usual launch-tax nonsense.
That said, I am still torn. Even at sane pricing it finally feels like a real option for people building around 1440p, but I still do not love paying that much for 12GB. Part of me says buy the thing when a card actually hits MSRP. The other part says wait for a proper sale and make them work harder for your money.
If you were shopping right now, would you jump on a near-MSRP 5070, stretch for the Ti, or wait and see if summer pricing gets softer?
