Path tracing on the RTX 5070 at 1440p - better than I expected

Spent the last few nights testing the RTX 5070 in the exact kind of settings people keep saying are "too much" for a 12GB card, and honestly I came away more impressed than I expected.
At 1440p with DLSS 4.5 doing its thing, Cyberpunk stayed around the low 100s for me, Alan Wake 2 was comfortably playable, and even the ugly scenes did not feel like slideshow territory. No, it is not a halo card, and yes, you can absolutely make it fall over if you insist on maxing every slider, but it feels like a genuinely serious 1440p GPU instead of a compromise card.
What I cannot decide yet is how I feel about the 12GB VRAM ceiling long-term. Right now it feels fine. Two years from now, maybe less so. Curious whether people see the 5070 as a buy-now card or a "nice but slightly risky" middle ground.
