RX 7800 XT vs RTX 4070 Super at 1440p — my actual benchmark numbers

Ran both cards in the same system (7600, 32GB DDR5-6000) at 1440p to settle this for myself. Rough averages across a 10-game suite, high/ultra:

Raster: 7800 XT edges ahead ~5-8% on average, bigger lead in the AMD-favored titles.
Ray tracing: 4070 Super clearly ahead, often 20-30% in heavy RT scenes.
Upscaling: DLSS still beats FSR on image quality, no contest, though FSR keeps closing the gap.
VRAM: 16GB (7800 XT) vs 12GB (4070 Super) — matters more as textures balloon; I hit the 12GB ceiling in a couple of modded titles.
Power: 4070 Super pulls noticeably less (~60-70W less under load).

My verdict: pure raster + VRAM longevity → 7800 XT. RT + efficiency + DLSS → 4070 Super. Both great at ~$489-549. Happy to post per-game numbers if anyone wants them.
