How long do you keep a build before upgrading?

Curious about everyone's upgrade cycle. I tend to keep my builds for about 3 years before doing a major platform upgrade, though I'll swap GPUs more frequently.

With AM5 being a long-term socket, I'm hoping this current build lasts me at least 4-5 years with just GPU upgrades.

4-5 years minimum. The key is buying smart at the start. A 5600X from 2020 is still perfectly fine for 1080p gaming in 2025. People upgrade way too often.

About 2 years... I know it's excessive but I enjoy the building process as much as using the PC. It's a hobby within a hobby.
